The Human Resources Associate is responsible for managing the full recruiting cycle, onboarding, and maintaining and updating our performance management system.


We are an award-winning nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing tobacco use, our nation's number one preventable cause of disease and death. We are building a team of smart, creative and passionate professionals who represent diverse backgrounds and disciplines to help us speak, seek and spread the truth about tobacco.

  • Maintain and update job descriptions for all positions
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop position announcements for posting
  • Identify appropriate recruiting sites and proactively identify candidates
  • Learn and identify new recruiting strategies
  • Screens candidate resumes from applicant tracking system
  • Schedules job interviews
  • Coordinates with external recruiters on job candidates
  • Represents and recruits at college career fairs
  • Assists in onboarding of new hires and offboarding of departing staff
  • Performs reference checks on final candidates
  • Assists in conflict resolution and coaching for staff
  • Leads performance management tracking and incentive pay cycles
  • Coordinate performance management trainings, processes and utilization of different components to fully utilize performance management system
  • Manages year-long internship program


  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources or business with three to five years of recruitment experience
  • Proven efficiency in the use of MS Office Suite and HRIS
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Able to be flexible and successfully maintain multiple tasks
