The Specialist supports the implementation of Truth Initiative's Youth Activism Programs including high school youth engagement, program recruitment, and digital outreach and engagement. The specialist will support other youth related initiatives as assigned and will also be part of cross departmental teams that develop, launch, and/or manage other youth engagement programs.

  • Develop and manage recruitment strategy for youth activists to our various programs
  • Manage all aspects of our annual youth summit and other related training programs
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with state and national youth servicing organizations both within the tobacco control field and outside of the field
  • Create innovative campaigns and activities for online youth activists
  • Coordinate the documentation of program activities and submit activity reports for management and evaluation purposes upon request
  • Work collaboratively with other Truth Initiative departments to enhance the Initiative's activities
  • Deliver technical support and training to select national and state-level youth organizations, as needed
  • Serve as an external representative to youth conferences and events on behalf of the department, as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs, i.e., special projects
  • Moderate travel required


The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of experience in tobacco control, youth development, events planning, organizing, or related fields. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and must be detail oriented. Additionally, prior experience developing, facilitating, and moderating events as well as social media management required. Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) is required. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Moderate travel required.
